1. Who we are
Publisher Audio is operated by Lee Coombs, trading as Please Rewind Network.
Publisher Audio provides tools that allow publishers and website owners to create and deliver audio versions of written content.

2. Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you use Publisher Audio.
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your publication or company name, email address and authentication information required to secure your account.
Password authentication is handled through our authentication provider. We do not need access to your plain-text password in order to operate your Publisher Audio account.
Website information
When you connect a publication or website, we may store information including its name, domain, account relationship, configuration and status.
API and integration information
If you use our API, SDK or integrations, we process information necessary to authenticate requests and operate those integrations. This can include credential names, credential identifiers or prefixes, creation dates, status and usage information.
Publisher Audio is designed so that secret API credentials do not need to be stored in plain text after they are issued.
Content and audio information
When Publisher Audio is asked to create audio, we process information necessary to perform that request. This may include an article URL, written article content, selected voice, generated audio, processing status and information about the amount of content processed.
Subscription and billing information
We process information relating to your Publisher Audio subscription, such as your selected plan, subscription status and identifiers used to associate your account with our payment provider.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Payment card information entered into Stripe's payment services is handled by Stripe rather than being stored directly by Publisher Audio.
Technical and security information
Like most online services, our infrastructure may process technical information necessary to deliver and secure the service. This can include request information, timestamps, authentication events, IP addresses and diagnostic or security logs generated by our hosting and infrastructure providers.
3. How we use information
We use personal information where necessary to provide and administer Publisher Audio, including to:
- create and secure customer accounts;
- authenticate users and API requests;
- connect websites and publications;
- generate, store and deliver article audio;
- manage subscriptions and account entitlements;
- measure usage against plan limits;
- provide customer support;
- detect, investigate and prevent misuse or security problems;
- maintain and improve the reliability of the service; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
4. Our lawful bases
Where UK data protection law applies, the lawful basis we rely on depends on why the information is being processed.
We generally process account, website, subscription and service information because it is necessary to provide Publisher Audio and perform our agreement with you.
We may rely on legitimate interests where appropriate for purposes such as protecting the service, preventing misuse, maintaining security and improving reliability, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
We may also process information where necessary to comply with a legal obligation. Where consent is the appropriate lawful basis, you may withdraw that consent.
5. Service providers
We use specialist service providers to operate Publisher Audio. They process information only where necessary for the services they provide to us or under their own applicable legal responsibilities.
Used for application infrastructure, database services and customer authentication.
Used for audio generation and storage infrastructure, including the processing required to create and deliver generated audio.
Used to provide subscription checkout, payment processing and subscription management.
Used to host and deliver the Publisher Audio web application and supporting infrastructure.
6. Sharing information
We do not sell personal information.
We may share information with service providers where necessary to operate Publisher Audio, process payments, provide infrastructure, secure the service or deliver requested functionality.
We may also disclose information where required by law, regulation, legal process or a valid request from an authority, or where reasonably necessary to protect our rights, users or services.
7. International processing
Some of the service providers used by Publisher Audio operate internationally. This means information may be processed in countries outside the United Kingdom.
Where UK data protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we take appropriate steps to use recognised safeguards or another permitted transfer mechanism.
8. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing your account and services, maintaining appropriate business and security records, resolving disputes and meeting legal obligations.
Different types of information may have different retention periods. When information is no longer required, we will delete it, anonymise it or allow it to be removed through our normal data lifecycle, where appropriate.
9. Security
We use technical and organisational measures intended to protect Publisher Audio and the information processed through it.
These measures include authenticated account access, access controls, restricted infrastructure credentials, server-side processing of sensitive service credentials and controls intended to keep customer accounts and websites separated.
No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Customers are also responsible for protecting their passwords and API credentials and for notifying us if they believe an account or credential has been compromised.
10. Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances and the law that applies, you may have rights in relation to your personal information. These can include the right to request access to your information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of processing, objection to certain processing and data portability.
Where processing is based on consent, you may also withdraw that consent. Some rights are subject to legal conditions and exemptions.

11. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your personal information, please contact us first so that we can investigate it.
If you are in the United Kingdom, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.
12. Children
Publisher Audio is a business publishing service and is not intended for use by children.

14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Publisher Audio develops, our providers change or our legal obligations change. The date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last updated.
